Utö gruvor (Utö mines) is located in the old mining village. The mine pits are now filled with water. From the walking trail between the mines you can see Långgruvan in the east and Nyköpingsgruvan, which is 215 feet deep, in the west.
The Mining Museum is located in the old “Sprayhouse” adjacent to the inn. It includes an exhibition on the history of the mines.
The street Lurgatan
In a beautiful hillside down towards Mysingen is Lurgatan with the old miners’ houses from the 18th century. Today they are second homes and have been declared as historical buildings.
