Big forests and open fields
The western side of Nämdö rises woody and mountainous towards Nämdöfjärden, while the eastern and southern sides are relatively flat. Most houses have been built on the eastern side.
Östanvik gård is the agricultural centre of the island, and the same fields are cultivated today as in the 17th century. Livestock are also transported to the surrounding nature reserves, such as Rågskär, Boskapsö, Långviksskär and Jungfruskär.
