Managed islets

Symbol för Naturreservat

Some privately owned islands in the Stockholm archipelago may have been set aside as protected areas and nature reserves, for various reasons. A limited supervision of these islands is carried out by Archipelago Foundation rangers.

Revskär nature reserve

The Revskär nature reserve consists of a large outer area located west of Torö, 14 km southwest of Nynäshamn. The reserve’s main islands are long, narrow, mountainous and gathered in an archipelago with good harbour bays and beaches. The vegetation on the islands consists of deciduous trees and scrub, and is typical of the outer skerries of Stockholm. The purpose of the reserve is to secure an area of importance for outdoor public recreation.
