The larger islands host a rich variety of flora, and in addition to the most common archipelago birds, there are colonies of rare types such as razorbills and black guillemots.
European Diploma for Protected Areas
Four conservation areas in Sweden have been awarded the European Diploma for Protected Areas, one of them being Långviksskär. The European Diploma is an award that has been granted by the Council of Europe since 1966.The award is granted to natural conservation areas of exceptional importance both for the whole of the European continent and in terms of meeting high standards for the preservation of biological, geological and landscape diversity.
