Oak trees and a rich birdlife

The deciduous forest in this area is one of the richest botanical concentrations in the Stockholm region, and hosts a large number of oak trees. The birdlife is rich, and white-tailed eagles are common. Bats fly around the castles on summer nights. There are walks of different lengths throughout the reserve. Häringe-Hammersta was handed over to the Archipelago Foundation in 1998.
